Happy Halloween Eve! The most creative day of the year! So creativity is the theme today.
But first, and not unrelated – aren’t you jealous of all the shapes animals can sleep in? They make it look so easy. Toddlers too. They make me feel like I’m bad at being an animal. I have to watch online videos to remember how to stretch. I do a lot of things that take up my whole brain in a way that I forget my corporeal body. As the things I do come more into focus I’m hoping to reunite the two in a way that my body doesn’t feel so left out, so like a rented mule when I return to it. I guess the next step is to become my own personal choreographer. To refine my economy of movement.
The doings are overwhelming and exciting, and they demand a lot. Some of the doings, like this newsletter, were made necessary by the pandemic, some are a result of my “yes lust”. I still call it that but I have actually gotten better at saying “no”. Yes is always my first lizard brain impulse since I’m like a stray dog, always wondering where my next meal is coming from. That's left over from poverty and neglect, but man! I can work like a sonofabitch. “What are you actually working on?” you may be asking. Well…
