I currently have Nina Simone’s version of Who Knows Where the Time Goes on repeat, especially when I’m driving home. I live at the end of the road, 12 miles up a river valley. The fall colors are incredible, and the peaks just got their first dusting of snow. Thank goodness for music and the natural beauty of the world (and most of the people too).
JOHN GRANT?!?!?!?!!!!!!! I am SO FREAKING THRILLED about this! Can’t wait to see you both in SF! GMF is obv a perfect song but Outerspace is truly a song that makes me feel tender and swoony when everything feels fucked and hard 💕
What's your favorite pinball table? My freshman year at Michigan my dorm was across the street from the student union, and I spent way too much time and money in the arcade. I can't remember what the pinball table was, but I do remember beating Golden Axe.
As always, your words give me life and bolster my heart! I really want to see you on this tour, and I even thought about braving the winter roads from Nova Scotia to Montreal, but I'm just too worried it will end up being untenable to make that journey in January. Any chance you might be heading to the Maritimes on a second leg of the tour? We need you here! No demands there, just truth :^) Nobody is hungrier for music and musicians than we are, I swear!
You don't even have to ask! I too, am so bummed I don't have a Maritime date on my calendar. But don't give up because I'm pushing for one. AND to finally make it to Newfoundland!
I would NEVER give up on waiting for you! And holy WOW, Neko and Newfoundland. What a stunning convergence! I hope it's not too forward to say that I think that will be a mutual love affair between you and that obstinate, majestic rock.
Cannot wait for the new record. I'm counting each day and every hour, shook already, and I haven't even heard it yet!
I've been here in NY a year and I saw my first hummingbird this weekend; it was exciting! We'd ripped out the gross hedges out front and planted native pollinators (agastache). I'm so looking forward to seeing you in Woodstock.
Thanks for introducing me to John Grant! Great voice and the song you attached really spoke to me. Wish I was able to make it to one of your shows. Next tour hopefully.
Thanks for sharing about your grief and creating newness out of it. No one really gets it til they go through it. I went through a period where I lost people layered like what you described. Grief all tied up in knots and losing people who believed in me.
Dang I have jury duty the day you are here and that will have me spent, I’m pretty sure. I am having such a hard time with timing things. Oh well, just how it goes sometimes. Hope you have a great tour.

What a lovely song, and by Nina. I will have to listen to that. Thanks! I love the version by Nanci Griffith.
Simone’s take on that song is masterful, it breaks my heart every time I listen to it.
Hi Neko
Beth Orton singing her song Stolen Car, her driving through my soul helps me when I'm cranky as hell.
As Beth sings "it's little things like this that matter to me"
Without music we must be in some kind of bad dream.
I wish we had hummingbirds in Australia and a maybe we were a bit closer for touring folks.
It's late and my lids are drooping so fare thee well.
I'm trying to get to you. Workin on it!
❤️
I always miss my dead friends most in the fall. The dying world brings it all up.
I'll be in the crowd in Salt Lake in November! So excited—for the concert and the album!!

I love the Hummingbird story ❤️, so sweet. 🥲 I'm sorry for your loss Neko and will try and catch your show here in Dallas.
Namaste 🙏🏼

This makes perfect sense to me!
That John Grant is one GMF!

What does the Oracle say? :)
