TOUR-DEEP

Hello! I am exactly mid-tour on the West Coast with the New Pornographers. It’s simultaneously physically punishing and a release of joy. It doesn’t leave a lot of room for creative thought, hence my sleepy presence last week here at The Lung. I have a lot of crazy dreams as a result of my decreased “doing” and thinking time.

In one dream I was dating Danny McBride and he was living in Puerto Rico running some scam where he was filming there but saying it was California… ? I dunno. It was super bizarre. He liked riding a go-kart around his compound, which was a rundown suburb. I think I was dating him but he had no idea I was, which makes me a stalker? There was a point where I hitched a ride with a trucker to go to the grocery store… hmmm. The mind is a bizarre place. 

I had another dream where horses were multiplying like rabbits all over my farm and out in the woods. They were having foals all over the place! I’d come across wallows and indentations in the earth with afterbirth still present. Coyotes and ravens would scatter as I approached. I must  be missing nature pretty bad? I’d call out and the horses would come running with two and three babies apiece. They wouldn’t come too close but they’d do a fly-by to show off their babies. They were so cute and had a metallic sheen about them. Unfortunately, the wild random horse increase was happening at such a rate that my own two horses were starving. It was alarming and I woke up sweating. 

I have no idea what any of this means but maybe it’s better that way?
