Wow! What a year it has been since releasing Wild Creatures digitally about a year ago. I’ve toured all over the US and Canada with my pals and have felt a lot of love. THANK YOU! The good news is Wild Creatures is now available for pre-order ON VINYL HERE!!! I told you it would happen!Â
I’m a HUGE fan of vinyl for many reasons but one of my favorites is the ARTWORK! It’s big and beautiful and you can run your fingers over it. As a kid I obsessed over the credits and pictures. They were as important to the music bonding process as the music. I tried to make sure to include LOTS of detail for the detail-oriented who love to get in the nooks and crannies of the music they listen to.
My dear friend, bandmate, and incredible artist Jason Creps kindly provided a few of the photos, I took some, and lots of really talented folks who mean a great deal to me contributed very humbling and sweet words. The behind-the-scenes work was massive for my manager Rachel and her team including Michael Crino, as well as my record company, ANTI- Records family (thank you Andy, Matt, Ryan, Mark, Trevor, Kelly, Jeff, Rhonda, Krystal, and Roger!)and the amazing Damon Kiley who built the website. Everyone has done a STUNNING job. THANK YOU, every single one of you, from the bottom of my heart.Â
The artist I hired to bring the whole thing together into one cohesive feeling is my friend and art hero, Laura Plansker. I’ve been a fan of hers for about 20 years via my booking agent, Ali, who first introduced me to her work. Needless to say, Laura went above and beyond and took the vision so far past what I’d even thought possible with her incredible work. I was gobsmacked and crying the first time I saw it. It’s so inviting and funny and genius and joyful and sad all at the same time… you can see what materials she used and it makes you feel like you can make art too! She gives you a deeper present even though she just gave you one! This is what art is at its finest, and I’m so pleased and proud and bowled over by her work. Here is a little sample of what is in store for you on the LP!Â
The videos she made are so magical! I'm going to have to get the cd and vinyl. What fun. I'd love all your song lyrics published as a large book, how cool would that be...waaay cool
Ah, I miss the days where the clue to your next purchase would be in the Thank You’d section of the liner notes 🥹
