If you're into women's hockey, it's worth following the Premier Hockey Federation. There are teams in Boston, Toronto, Minnesota, Connecticut, New York/Jersey, Buffalo, and Montreal. The Hockey is really good and this weekend are the last games before playoffs!

Welcome back! And how could the Swedes have held it against you — they WERE in Canada watching the game! :)

Women’s hockey needs a play by play announcer Neko. Are you down? Would make a great sideline. She Shoots! She Scores! Anyway how about a sheet of ice chez vous? Under the lights!

I got interested in Rugby a long time ago in college, and tried to play on the D team but was neither fast enough to be a back or strong enough to be in the pack. I watch it every week -- English Premier tier and any tournaments happening, as the Six Nations is happening now. It is rare to get to see a woman's game but when you do, you see the same sort of play that Neko describes in the piece. The big guys or the "fatties" as on commentator calls them in the men's sport dominate the starting point of each play or passage of play. With the woman, the passes are better executed and the flow is incredible. I watched a French player in the 2011 woman's final take a pass deep in her own end and through speed, strength and ability she managed to go 100+ meters and score a try that was converted. It was the best try I'd seen that year, and whenever I get to see a women's game, I see the same sort of style and approach from all the other teams. They just aren't as good at it as the French are. England and Six nations stream on Peacock Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Enjoy.

All is definitely not perfect by a long stretch in Canadian women's sports - witness what the brilliant Canadian national women's soccer team is enduring at the moment. Nothing short of shocking. We have a LONG way to go... obviously. Women's Day.. ha. Like you say - needed is much, much more on women's front everywhere - and year round. If you would like to go for a great bike ride in Stanley Park - let us know. My friend knows every corner there, loves to ride in the park AND has a closet full of bikes! We'd be happy to take you for a ride, in particular on the soon to be dismantled Stanley Park bike lane. caroleesienna@gmail.com :)

Been a big fan of women's hockey for a long time. My wife and I saw the USA Women's hockey team demolish Sweden and the late, not lamented, New Haven coliseum. First stop on our famed three state date

*at, not "and"

Would have been cool if they also demolished the coliseum.

😅 Those poor Swedes. (Apparently Finland lost the bronze game to USA 5-0 😩)
