HOW ARE YOU? We are in a tense, crappy, death-filled horror time and despite kindness and good intentions and hard work all around the powers that be are not listening. The world is SCREAMING “Ceasefire!” and still here we are. I’m not going to recant the particulars because you’ve heard/seen. Everyone knows, no matter how we/they have tried to excuse ourselves/themselves or bury our/their heads in the sand. We all know. People are being killed in vast numbers and in horrific ways and it’s beyond alarming and depressing. You know, so I’ll stop explaining, but what can we do about it?
I’m stating the absolute obvious, but despite what popular media seems to be representing it is absolutely possible to support the Jewish (and non-Jewish) citizens of Israel AND the people of Gaza. I love ALL of the people and I want them safe. I see pleas everywhere asking what the best way to help is? I have not yet found a definitive answer, but I have a few links to share if you’d like to contribute. I would LOVE to see any suggestions you may have for organizations that are actively doing some good. I love a community crowd-source! Here are some basics, but please join in and recommend more…

Additionally, do you have any favorite orgs you’d like to share who do good in other places and in other spheres? ANYWHERE in the world! SHARE EM! I would love to amplify some positivity and help-giving selflessness out there.
One of my favorite do-gooder orgs is Meals On Wheels. I know I’ve said this many times before but I have delivered during the holidays for Meals On Wheels and it’s a real life-changer. Seniors in this country are often lonely, food insecure and seemingly invisible. We all need human company and a little conversation and a kind word. You can donate at the link above but it’s even better to volunteer. If you’ve never done it, I can’t recommend it enough. You meet some really incredible people. It’s SO worth it.

I really want us all to have a peaceful holiday season and I want everyone to be safe in the arms of their friends and families, be they chosen or blood related. I want rest and peace for everyone. It’s not dumb or too broad, it’s love. I love you and yours and ours and theirs. We deserve peace, every single one of us.
