Love that Neko is again performing in San Diego. But the venue selected, Humphrey's, is THE worst music venue in town. It is the most expensive in town, and with it comes awful acoustics and the most rickety and uncomfortable and ass-pinching folding chairs on earth...
Much as I love Neko, this place will not do justice to such magnificent work as hers. Also, I'd prefer to be comfortable when experiencing her. But I wish her well. Really wanted to experience Neko live in concert once again.
She performed with New Pornographers in 2014 and few years later a solo show at The Observatory North Park Theater. Acoustics there are awesome. Hope next time through town she'll return to that venue.
Please tell me that you'll be at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall again!
Back story:
A few years ago my wife and I went to a Neko show there, and were able to sit in the first row center! We were close enough to hear most of the sound (including Neko's angelic voice) unamplified. It was heaven (yes, pun intended) and one of the greatest musical experiences of my life. And, at the end of the we held up little signs for Neko to read that read "Can I play one of your barn pianos?" (my wife's) and "I can turn pages" (mine). I'm pretty sure Neko read them, but we didn't get any invites, alas. We'll try to get those same seats again, but will use very different signs, of course.
Gahhh I'm so excited. I'm already looking in to trains and places to stay in st. Louis. I just bought tickets & booked a place to see hurray for the riff raff in April and I'm stoked cause I've been wanting to see them for years and it's also near my birthday 🎉🎉. That'll be my first big concert since 2019 😭😭 This is gunna be the year of concerts and it's already giving me life (also probably a vampire, but they are dark and sexy and I've always wanted to be one so it works). You're igniting my soul already with doctor who and vampire references. I. Can't. Fucking. Wait!!! 🙌🙌🙌🎸🎶🎷🪕
