I read that the suspect was hearing voices and may have been suffering from mental illness. I'm not going to comment on that specifically.

I'm going to tell you that my sister Tracy and I have been discussing what to do about our mentally ill sister, Alta, recently. Alta has suffered from schizophrenia and multiple personalities for decades. For various reasons, the nursing home she has been in has been unable to force her to stay on the only medication that worked for her. I told my sister Tracy that I was worried that Alta might violently attack someone. We alerted the facility, and they "took it under advisement". And of course she *did* attack her roommate and try to kill her. Thank god she didn't. And thank god my sister died recently. I say that in kindness.

It's extremely hard to get help for people suffering from mental illness. I cannot tell you how hard. Unless you have had to work with the system, you can't fathom it. And many times, the people in the system are actually trying to help.

I understand the absolute tragedy of what has happened, but there is likely a long, complex paperwork trail behind it. I hope people have enough compassion to see the full picture. Nothing is ever black and white.

I feel terrible for the families of those affected by this shooting. And for everyone hurting in Gaza and Israel, too.

We must outlaw abortion . . . because Jesus needs more babies for his war machine . . . https://cwspangle.substack.com/p/satanism-is-a-jewish-cult

We can't afford healthcare for American children because we need to keep bombing everyone else's for the love of Jesus and Israel.

My daughter's friend lives in Lewiston and this morning she said her baby needed formula and she didn't know if the grocery stores were open or if it was even safe to go out to get it. She lives right near the bowling alley. I also sat and sobbed. This woman is the little girl who called me at work when my daughter broke her wrist after her brakes went out on her bicycle and rode into the side of a parked truck. I could hear her little voice saying that she first she called an ambulance, then she called her grandma, then she called me. And now this woman is sheltering in place with her new husband and their children and wondering if she can get formula for her baby. Please, stop. We need peace.

I live in Lisbon about 2.8 miles from where they found his car and about 3 miles in the other direction from his house. It’s been a living nightmare with all the unknowns and why’s. You never think it’ll happen at home but here we are…

Reading this broke open the well of emotion that gets tucked away just to survive the day to day in what has become an incredibly intense reality. I have snot bubbles and tears in my cheese and crackers. I just didn’t expect to read this or feel that way about it. We can’t keep living like this. We need to be better for each other.

So true.

I love you.

Thanks for writing this. I'm sort of numb from it all, but want to do something about it. Love to all of you up there.

They found his body, so the lockdown will end now, but the trauma won't. I know quite a few Mainers at this point, and I'm a New England gal born and bred. Sandy Hook happened 25 minutes from where I grew up, more than ten years ago now, and we're still in the same stupid place. Thanks I hate it.

After Sandy Hook I was so hoping that easy access to guns would finally be addressed, but nothing was done. I live in Texas where anyone can buy guns and openly carry them. I hate it, too. I have no illusions that anything will change.

The gunman, Robert Card, was just found dead. What a sad life, so much sorrow and loss. I hope this brings relief and some peace to people in the surrounding areas.

Be safe is the kind of feeble response I muster, but I mean it. Just love my US friends and artists who have to live in the maelstrom of entitled privilege. We have it here and that is worth remembering often for good people it is the choice to act and do. Just be safe Neko and all the good folks around you.

What I can’t seem to make the Republican/2nd amendment peoples in my life understand is that this just doesn’t happen with any regularity any place else in the “developed” world. Why? Are they better people than us? Smarter? Maybe. Or just maybe they have taken sensible steps to prevent it. It’s not some slippery slope or government overreach. Gun control is a public health issue, and until it’s treated as one this will keep happening. I’m moving my family to Portugal in the meantime, but I really do love you and wish you the best, America.

In what the late Saddam Hussein once dubbed “the great Satan,” roughly two-thirds of the United States enlisted military corps is white . . .

The fat, bulbous U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin once confirmed in a 93-2 vote of the U.S. Senate, immediately embarked on a whirlwind media tour of duty, telling the pseudo-secular sycophants in the state-controlled tabloid press and state-controlled television talk show circuit about how the U.S. Army is full of bad racist white men.

And now the U.S. Army is doing ads begging for more young white males? What happened?

Even with a full-on declaration of war from Congress, and even if Gavin Newsome could be cheated into the Oval Office by ZOG somehow, with Globohomo diversity brigades going door-to-door looking to impress American children into military service, they will be met with armed, well-trained opposition, the invasion at the Southern border is going full tilt, and the drugs are flowing in like never before . . .

People are done fighting wars for you psychotic kikesucking Zionist ass-whores . . . With the borders of Europe and the USA wide open, civil warfare within the USA, Britain, and most of Europe is a certainty if foreign wars are initiated. Nobody is going to fight a war for Biden, he is dumber than Bush . . . Nobody is going to fight a war for that kikesucking Zionist ass-whore Nikki Haley, and I mean nobody.

Get ready for it . . . the fat old devil worshipping fags on Capitol Hill, on Wall Street, in Whitehall, and in Brussels are in no shape to fight a war themselves, and most Americans are armed to the teeth with their own guns . . .

Selling my house. Whenever there's a showing I vacate to a soccer complex to wait it out. I don't like soccer but I love seeing all the kids of every nationality, color and gender, wearing the same jerseys. Too bad that when they get older we teach them to hate each other.

I do what I can in my world to make things better. As small as it might seem, at least it’s something. So much is fucked up it’s hard to not get overwhelmed and feel helpless, but there’s also kindness and good. This human experience is not for the faint of heart.

Indeed. Even way out in the Berkshires, we are watching and waiting for word of capture.

I need to grocery shop tomorrow; fuck that scary man, I'm going to do what I need to do for my family.

I'm taking your advice and loving everyone extra hard this weekend, and one way I do that is through favorite family dinners. We ought to always look at the big picture of life on this planet, but we are often most effective when we focus tight on our close families, friends, and communities.
