Thank you Neko 💙 As someone who's part of the weirdo rainbow and has been feeling rather terrified for this past week, this is what I needed to read this morning.
I admit that I cried the day after. A lot. I was so upset that my period started two weeks early. Lucky for me I’m always super productive while bleeding! My yard is looking great. Also lucky that I had a fun weekend already planned. I saw Cyndi Lauper’s farewell tour Sunday night. Her voice is still so powerful and her art is a joy to watch. And Monday night I saw the Jinkx and Dela Holiday show. They are my favorite queens and I always enjoy them but the show this year is just perfect. If anyone has the opportunity to catch it, GO!!! It’s just so smart and lovely. Ben Delacreme is a beautiful genius. Typing this actually helped me see that I have marched on as I always have, letting art and gardening guide me through. And I get to look forward to new Neko Case music! And love the aclu shoutout. They are one of my monthly donations AND are in my will, along with HRC and Birmingham Humane Society. 😻🌈
You summed it up so well my heart is bursting. Thank you angel. Can’t wait to hear your new record. And yes, Oregon is stunning and comforting right now. Love you! 💕💕
We are wary, but we are not afraid. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.
Neko, just so you know you have my vote if one, you run for something/ anything and two if you’ve got the time! Thanks for everything. Stay strong, fierce and mad all!
I dumped most of my media and Apple News feed. Decided it is better for my well being to hunt out the news I trust. I’ve also embarked on looking at local newspapers state by state to try and get a handle on the “moods”. Will do one state per week and have started with Alabama. Will do the same thing here in Canada, province by province. If nothing else I’ve got some direction. Thank you Neko!
Hello,Dennis, fine specimen that you are! Thanks for posting the open letter from the ACLU.No one here is freaking out, either. My protest consists of referring to him as '45',and now '46'.Cheers,and keep fighting the good fight!
Right here with ya, you beautiful fucking rainbow.
Hi Erin!
Marko! You beautiful fucking rainbow!
Gosh did I need this email. I've slipped into a dark place this week. Yeah, you know it's bad...me, Mr. positivity.
Thanks Neko
Your refusal to give them your fear has been a beacon for me Neko. I'm okay and handling it because you pointed the way to a healthy, sane resistance.
Thanks!

Also, BUSHTIT is a perfect punk rock band name.
"The name of this band is BUSHTIT
and this is our new song, Emergency Taco"
Thank you for every single word of this. I needed to read this post more than my frazzled mind and aging body could possibly have imagined.

Thank you Neko, particularly the ACLU letter to the Trumphole!

Neko your words and attitude is helping keep me afloat. ♥️

This made me cry in a way that I really needed to. I’ve been surviving by firmly ensconcing my head in the sand and avoiding the news.
Crying is a good release, but also god damn your words are just so beautiful and perfect. Thank you! ❤️
I also am tearing up before , during after reading this and peer comments - it helps so much
Personally, I still feel numb and largely staying off social media because it's just not helpful. Here's to fighting the good fight.
Right fucking on!
