It’s very early. I’m looking out over the trees from my bed through the window. It’s grey and slate blue and evergreen. Most leaves are down which has exposed the nests of the mostly absent birds and hornets. It’s a view that calmly requests acceptance. It’s not quite fall anymore. There’s still time to plant garlic and other bulbs but growing is done. Horses are fluffy, the dogs are sleepy and the cats only bring in mice now.
Love Coco and Chet snuggling. In our house, we used to have animal apartheid with different floors for dogs and cats to prevent cat freak outs. However, I have an expectation that pet friends need to develop a comfort level with their non-species counterparts, so I instituted the “Pals are pals” program. It wasn’t without hiccups, but it does work in the long run.
I don't like cold weather, except there is more togetherness with the animals, as portrayed by sweet Chet and Coco. Having my cats sleeping on top of me makes winter more tolerable. (I know it's not winter yet, but I'm a catastrophizer and hyperbolist when it comes to weather.)
I only had one chance to make a recording without worrying about it taking more than a day, and with an array of some of my favorite musicians, and it was the best week of my life. Birthing these things is what magic feels like. Remember to have fun!
I love hearing - experiencing the creative minds at seminomambulent (sp?) Beaver state in a dreamlike environment of late fall, that seems so strange because it's so warm .
If a dog and cat can sleep together in peace on a groovy rug, anything is possible in your world.
Things move faster and make ever less sense as one ages...
Coco and Chet! 😍❤️🥰
Chet must be some kinda super chill cat to allow Coco such liberties. ;-)
Love your dog/cat picture. I'm also excited about your recording project. Don't worry so much as the records are always wonderful.
And here comes another aural glory.
At the risk of stating what we already know: you are a creator of arresting poetry. Thank you.
You built it and people will come .
“The light makes it feel like we are dreaming everything.” A lyric now in my head.
"There is a season turn turn..."

Has anyone else suggested that “somnambulant beavers” could be an excellent name?
Meant to say “name for a band” 🤦♀️
