You're knocking it out of the park with this series Neko, going to throw this vinyl on right now! Oh, and you were right about Eddy & Billy being the lead singers on “I Wanna Know If It’s Good to You”.

Not that I need a reason to play Funkadelic, but your post has propelled me to play it, two times in a row, at the record store I work in. The sun is out, the doors are open and I almost feel normal. Thanks for the inspiration.

George Clinton just released tour dates for p-funk and they are playing in Indianapolis the day after your show in st Louis 😂 I'm trying to buy a car by the end of spring and if I get one I am 1000% driving from st. Louis to Indianapolis 😂

So happy to see Funkadelic in this list of things you love. They were a one of a kind bunch of weirdos. I recently saw a great documentary on the band, and predictably, it seemed they were utterly chaotic in everything but the groove. George Clinton would “forget” to pay the band and when he did pay, it would often be in drugs, which he was back charging you for based on what you consumed! As you noted, Funkadelic’s might is in it’s influence. Late stage Talking Heads being a singular example. What would a funky Neko sound like? That’s a very interesting question!

Last September when you were going to play in chicago I was going to stay for the next day to see George Clinton and Parliament. I remember my dad buying Magot Brain and popping it in his truck and listening to it for the first time. I was around 12 and I remember thinking that I didn't know music could sound like /that/, ya know? That album is what really got me in to listening to music rather than just passively consuming.
