“Spring” is here in The Lung. Mud Season. BUT we still have an entire month of wind and possible snow storms to come. And I LOVE it! Here are some other things I love… I love seeing birds flying and carrying things in their beaks, especially when I can’t tell what it is! Is that a banana peel or a snake? Hmmm…
Had to google chitting , isn't that great that folks use words that are not known as well . It is Autumn in Adelaide as we are having a typical warm mild April still t shirt weather and thinking of my winter veggies and sad my basil will start to fall off.
I live in the Lake Superior basin. April snowstorms sometimes bleed into May. The mess of it all gets to be too much. Except, things that left in October and September are returning and reestablishing. Each year, when the trill-call of the first redwing black bird floats into my ears, I inhale deeply, knowing I have made it through another one. And I'm voting for snake over banana peel every time. In fact, I am mostly composting snakes, I think.
Definitely Mud Season now, here where i live, with scattered snow a few days, then melt the following days. Had to break up with the [covered but outdoors] county hockey rink, before it shuts down, this weekend, until October, but am in preps for the "fun run" (that is, the easiest) ...in the Leadville Trail series mid-June. As i ran yesterday (on the muddy dirt roads), dozens and dozens of ravens were in a mob, swirling in the sky, making a tonne of noise and making daredevil turns.. One sees ravens out here even it's -10F out, but now they definitely are fired up for the new season.
Omg my house would be FULL OF BONES. No kitschy knick knacks, just bones. And I would name them all and give them personalities and talk to them all day long. Is this the old witch future I envision for myself? One can only hope 🧹🦴🦇🔮

Hey, Neko! Did you see that you are an answer in today's NYTIMES crossword?! ✔
62A. Second time at least that “Neko” has been an answer.

I thought this said cats popping outside and I agreed!! Now I see it says POOPing outside hahaha. Even better.
I love that it's mushroom season again. The live giving mycelium is fruiting forth with magical fungi that are beautiful, and sometimes tasty!
I love the unfused sternum!! Tooo cute
I simply love the light and the meadow flowers popping out.
I love that you love all that! Cool!!
Me too! I love cool muddy walks on the carpets of debris that remain after the thaw, while warm chlorophyll starts to brew.
Needed this mindset shift for the day. My own response to yet another morning snow in southern WI was not nearly as graceful - GDI! WTAF?!
